How do I perceive the quotation of Mr Ludwig, 'Language Disguises Thought'
Language is an incredibly important tool to pass on knowledge and to communicate thought. We use language to represent ideas, to make sense of the world, and to talk about what is "out there". Nevertheless, the language you speak is closely connected to your world experience.
Language definitely does affect the way that we think there have been numerous linguistic studies about it that all come to the same conclusion. Also there have been cases for feral children-children that grow up in the wild with little to no human contact with these children are found and thought concepts that normal people have no issue understanding they have any significant difficulty with them. Their lack of language at a young age makes it difficult for them to learn complex, abstract ideas even after learning a language to the best of their abilities.
Of course people can still experience time and color even without language because that is how our minds and eyes are built to function. But the way they experience those things changes with the language, abstract and more complex ideas require proper language to be able to comprehend. For example we don't have a natural sense of freedom if our culture and language had no sense of freedom for us to use to form our understanding of it then we wouldn't be able to understand it.
I just want to share this, I remember a lot from my childhood and I remember having thoughts but being frustrated because I couldn't express them yet. I thought my mom was able to read my mind, and I thought that's how we communicated before I spoke. So when she didn't understand why I was crying or needed her, I would get frustrated thinking that she was ignoring my thoughts on purpose. Now that I'm older, I realized that she obviously couldn't read my mind, she was just making guesses as to what I needed or wanted.
This is why without language, all you could think would be complex thoughts but you wouldn't be able to describe them or analyze them, they would just be raw "thought".
